Truro Tsunami FC Makes History at Gothia Cup 2026

The Truro Tsunami of the East Coast Floorball League delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, proudly representing Canada in their first-ever appearance at one of the world’s largest youth floorball tournaments.

Competing in the B17 division, the Tsunami faced a highly competitive field of 22 teams from 6 nations. Through disciplined play, teamwork, and determination, the team finished an impressive 3rd overall in the B division, marking a significant milestone for both the athletes and Canadian floorball.

The team was led by U19 Team Canada Head Coach Peter Wallin, whose impact was immediate and profound. In his first major international event with a Canadian team, Wallin exceeded expectations, setting a strong foundation for the future of the Canadian U19 Men’s program. 

Beyond results, the Tsunami’s journey reflects a broader goal: growing and strengthening floorball in Canada. The lessons learned at Gothia Cup will be carried forward into domestic training, athlete development, and future international opportunities.
