After a great experience in Slovakia 2012 the U-19 Women's National team is beginning to prepare for the World Championships in Poland in May 2014.  This past week the International Floorball Federation announced the competitors in Group B.  Canada will be in the B pool with Germany, Austria, Jamaica, Ukraine and Norway.  After a strong showing in Slovakia with an impressive 1-1-2 record, including two ties against the first and second place teams in the division, Canada should be in a great position to battle for top spot in their second World competition.  If Canada can manage a victory in Poland they could possibly play the first International game in Pool A on home turf in Belleville in 2016!!!

To add to the strength of the team moving forward the entire Management Team from the previous World Championships will be returning for Poland U-19 in 2014. The Management Team will consist of:
Brett Davis, General Manager
Todd Crawford, Head Coach
Robin Ridgewell, Assistant Coach
Sonja Hotke, Assistant Coach
Sarah Bullock, Assistant Coach
Stephanie Koo, Assistant Coach
Mara Chaplin, Athletic Therapist

As it stands now the team has tentatively scheduled a series of four try-outs in Southern Ontario in the months of April-May-Early June.  These try-outs will be combined with the Women's National Team practices. The approximate dates proposed are;
Practice/Try-out #1- Cobourg, Ontario - Between April 10-26
Practice/Try-out #2- Hamilton, Ontario - Between May 1 -10
Practice/Try-out #3- Markham, Ontario - Between May 13-24
Practice/Try-out #4- Belleville, Ontario - Monday June 3, 6-7:30 Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre

The goal for Team Canada is to formally announce the first ten National Team players at the end of this series of try-outs.  The Team will then hold a series of try-outs in the Fall of 2013 and finalize the team prior to Christmas!!!
